Dr. Leman, what makes you think that your way of parenting is the right one? Why should I listen to you?This is a new era and kids have new issues and pressures, what proof do you have that your advice works?
How do I know that if I follow your advice it will work for me and my kids?
Don’t you think you are old school with your stance on things like your kids need to work at home, we need to limit kid’s activities, and other things?
Well…
First I have been around the track a few times! With over 40 years of experience, I have seen many victories in parenting that come out of applying my teaching.
But, actually, it is not all my stuff. What I teach was introduced to me by others who have gone before me. And, ultimately, wisdom comes from God.
What I love best about the approach I take is that it is practical.
And, it is humorous.
Yes, there is discipline involved. Firmness and toughness are qualities of a good parent. As I like to say, “Parenting is not easy, but it is simple.”
So, to you that ask why you should trust me, I say, “Experience, and lots of it!”
