I knew something was up around the Leman household…but I didn’t know what was up. Later I find out that Mrs. Uppington was being very sneaky and planning a surprise party! My first clue was when I woke up and my daughter Hannah and her husband Josh were on the patio in the morning drinking coffee — I was shocked! And I was hoping the other kids weren’t far behind…
And they weren’t! Kevin and Lauren flew in from California the next day along with other friends and family! The party was so great it made me want to be 70 all over again (and I thought that was impossible!) The best part was listening to all my kids and grandchildren talk about our relationship and what counted most in life to them.
To top it off my sweet wife bought me a 1950 Deluxe Ford – Little did she know that was my FIRST car. I paid 200 dollars for it. I think she paid a little more… She completely surprised me.
It was one of the those benchmarks in life that you don’t forget! Everyday since I keep thinking about how wonderful that evening was. How much love was in the that room.
It is a privilege to be a Dad and a husband, those are two things I certainly cut out to be!

First of all, Happy Happy Birthday, Mr. Leman!! I think you completely AMAZING!! We saw you live at the Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, IL a few years back on a “Date Night” and being it was our first time knowing who you were.. we really enjoyed our night listening to you. Not only are you funny but your to the point and many of the things you said really hit home for myself, my husband and our children. I posted as the instructions stated along with the video of your new book from Youtube. I hope to win so that I can pass this book to my daughter who I think has a powerful daughter and she is also expecting another child in Feb 2014. Happy Birthday, Dr. Leman! I saw you at a conference years ago in Fairmont, WV. I updated my status on Facebook using your example and my own words. I have one daughter who is 25. I gave my daughter a small book to read written by you. I can’t remember the name of the book, but it has something to do with finding the right spouse. She wasn’t interested in reading it. I’m not pushing it. However, I’m hoping that she may look at it some day, pick it up, and start reading. I have read other books by you. I’m currently reading, “What Your Childhood Memories Say About You”.

With a 4 yr old, 2 yr old and 11 month old my parenting journey is starting to get interesting! I’ll take whatever help you can give this young mama :) I always appreciate your way of saying it like it is and your sense of humor too! Thanks for what you do.
Our very powerful youngest child is 25. He had a motorcycle accident over a year ago with a resulting brain injury. This now makes his previous POWERFUL personality look like nothing. Needless to say it is very challenging. Would love to get some help as we are exhausted looking! Have enjoyed your books in the past! Thank You!
